A quality functional desk accessory, made by El Casco who specialise in the manufacture of staplers and pencil sharpeners. They take great pride in the workmanship, training their own apprentices in traditional methods of manufacture, keeping alive the designs of the early thirties. The six polishing stages and assembly are done by hand.

The sharpener has a vacuum base, which holds the sharpener to the desk during the sharpening process. The crank sharpener resembles an old fashioned camera, down to a porthole "viewfinder", which allows its inner workings to be observed while its precision mechanism delivers a choice of four pencil point lengths. The pencil point can be further refined using the file at the front of the hand-smithed shavings drawer.
