An imaginatively made, compact box for traditional shipboard games of skill and chance. The handsome highly-polished wooden cabinet, with brass hinges and fittings, incorporates nine numbered compartments with sliding wooden blocks for playing Shut the Hatch. The lid has a green felted interior for dice throwing. There are five numbered dice, five poker dice, a set of three Crown & Anchor dice and a doubling dice. A felt 'table' for playing Crown & Anchor, the classic seafarers' gambling game, is included. There are rules in English for five games with strong nautical connections:
